David + Devon: Mesa, Arizona Wedding Pt II

Wednesday, December 14, 2011

Just wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone's sweet words on Facebook :) If you haven't seen Part 1 yet, stop by there first! I have a special surprise at the end of this post ;)

And here is Part II of Devon & David's wedding...

Devon and David decided to have a first look which is always exciting. This is basically when the groom and bride have a private reveal moment before the ceremony...

I love First Looks so much because you can actually throw your arms around each other, laugh your nerves off, and not worry about a crowd of people watching you.

From the reception space, looking into the ceremony space... My Vintage Venue is such a beautiful location.

One of my many favorites..

Jillian's perspective right before the kiss...

then mine..

Clearly Devon inherited her mother's beautiful looks. Love these two :)

Rust and Lace
... they left me speechless when I saw their amazing work. I've never felt overwhelmed with where to start with details before. Which is a really amazing place to be.

And right as the sun dipped below the horizon, we took some of my absolute favorite images. Like something out of a fairy tale. I felt like I was peeking into their home as they slow danced by the light...

Time to celebrate!

Take a good look at these people here. They will teach you how to party.

A fairytale night indeed

And that is all, my lovely friends. After second shooting for so long, I can't tell you how full my heart is to be able to share with you my own weddings with more to come next year! Sadly I couldn't squeeze all my favorites into this post (I KNOW. Ridiculous ;) So like my Imaginale Design Facebook Page -- and I can stuff your eyes with more ;) For now... we will end with this special slideshow:

  3. Jenn-- An answered prayer is all I can say :) Thank you!

    Thank you Meghan :)

Becca- So the ones with the sky very blue were actually no flash. I switched back and forth from non-flash to flash (so my ISO was pretty high but there was still some sky light available). Once the light was completely gone (i.e. it was *night*) I set up one tripod with a flash + white umbrella plus the 580ex on my camera and used pocket wizards to trigger both. Jillian (my second) would shoot natural light so it was really great to have that mix :)

Towards the end of the night we took the 580ex from the stand, gave it to Jose (he's amazing!) hooked to pocket wizards. This allowed me to travel to other parts of the outdoor space with him angled at 30 degrees from me with the flash pointed at my subjects. Hope that makes sense!

  4. Your eye for the genuine moment is quite amazing. The pictures as elegant, tasteful, and a lovely reflection of the deep emotions this couple has for one another and their family. Outstanding final product. Congrats to you.

I love the photos you took of the lovely couple dancing. I heart the framing and how you made sure to capture the chandelier at just the right angle. Great job all around!

  9. I absolutely LOVE your photos of this wedding- in fact I am getting married soon and had my photographer use your photos as a reference point for our wedding! I was just wondering if you had any idea where the bride got her veil? As well as falling in love with your photos I also happened to be looking for a veil just like hers and am dying to know where she got it.

  11. Glad to know about this beautiful wedding and quite sure that you had a lovely wedding. Last month, arranged my sister’s wedding at one of beautiful New York wedding venues and had an awesome time at the wedding.
