Outfit Chronicles: Bohemian Maxi Dress

(Imagine this conversation in Spanish.)

Mom: Ale, what is another sport that sounds like hockey?
Me: Um... broomball?
Mom: That doesn't sound like hockey... Richard (guy that wants to date her) told me we should play hockey on Monday because he wasn't supposed to go to work.
Me: *long pause*... Did you mean hookie, mom??

Haha... so apparently she pretended to know what it meant because she was too embarrassed to ask. Initially she thought he was crazy for wanting to play hockey. I went on to explain what "playing hookie" meant and she admitted there were things he'd say that just confused her.... like "I'll take a rain check." She's so cute :)

So on to today's outfit!

Actually, this is as simple as you can get. Just a dress and some sandals...

(Sandals from DSW by Sofft-- insanely comfortable. Wore these almost every day in Spain to walk in.)

Buuuut... there's something else I'm wearing (aside from this sweater :)...

A feather extension hair piece!

The dress is one of my best lifetime steals. Five dollars. I know... I know! It was a black friday find that I didn't even bother to try on because the dressing room line was ridiculous, so I thought, for five dollars -- if it doesn't fit I'll just use the fabric! Never thought it would fit me perfectly. Including the LENGTH. I'm 5'3 -- this is phenomenal folks.

So... do you like my little Steven Tyler hair piece?! Y'all don't even know how LONG I've been wanting a feather extension for my hair. I wanted it so bad that last Thursday I decided to finally just MAKE it :) I'll be posting the tutorial I used and how I tweaked it. Let me know in the comments what you think b/c I will consider giving one away if you like it too!

Happy Monday to all the hockey players out there.

  1. I know what you mean and that's why I feel bad that I don't know the store's name! :( It was when I was in Alabama for Thanksgiving and we went to the mall on Black Friday. Trust me, I wish I knew the store's name!

Aaaand, nevermind. I checked the tag on the dress: Rue 21!! :) Haha.
